Our bad girl RiRi or Rihanna for those unfamiliar with her presence on Instagram has landed a pretty sweet new gig. It seems this Barbados island girl has been building quite a friendship with creative director Oliver Rousteing, creative mind behind fashion forward Balmain. As of today officially, Rihanna is and will be the face for Balmains' Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
Rihanna is infamous for strutting her stuff in the latest trends and even setting them. Who can forget that crimson red hair that sent women across the nation to beauty shops and the bob that trickled its way down to even the suburban housewives of the world. Just this past summer she was invited to the Coco Chanel house and was treated to front row personally by Karl Lagerfeld so she is no stranger to endorsements. With this newly attained deal with Balmain, she's already gearing up for a showstopper in the press.
In the above photo she is rocking a baby pink houndstooth jacket with matching skirt all bound in a gold and white chain belt. She shares the gold accents on her wrist with a chunky gold chain bracelet as well as her lace boots with gold toe and heel. Her newly ravished bob is done in an asymmetrical wavy style covering most of her face. I think this puts more attention on the outfit which is all but ignored. Rihanna has never let the fans or the runway down with what she puts on her back. This instroduction to her treatment with Balmain looks very promising and I cannot wait for the full collection to see what else she stuns the fashion world with.
